This is the old Pine Ridge school building from
Altman Rd in Gray Ga that was moved to the old Clinton
historic district. It has been painted upon new siding
where needed, with a new tin roof.
This is the front entrance to the school, restored
and painted. The only original wood is at the first
floor level. All other wood has been replaced. An old
photo from 1979 in the Macon Telegraph shows the school
all boarded up, with only one window to the left. The
original school may have had two windows because light
was provided by the sun in the old days. However, the
interior panelling did not show any breaks in it where
a window would have been.
This is a close up of the front door.
This is inside showing the original paneling. The blackboard
is larger planks that were framed and painted black.
This is the back left corner of the ceiling showing
where the pot belly stove used for heat was originally
attached. Some bricks are showing through.
This is the back of the building.
